Perkins&Will Opens a Philadelphia Studio

3801 Chestnut will include ground floor retail space, while the upper floors will contain lab and office space targeting life sciences.

The architecture and design firm Perkins&Will opened a studio in Philadelphia.

The new studio grows Perkins&Will's regional presence in the Northeastern U.S., and provides design services to surrounding states such as Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey, and collaborates with other studio teams from New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

The Philadelphia studio will be headed by Bill Harris, regional managing director, Robert Clemens the managing director, and Laura Morris, the health practice leader.

The studio will contribute to several growing city sectors including athletics, campuses, offices, and commercial life sciences.

Philadelphia is known as the “Cellicon Valley,” an emerging hub for cell and gene therapy, and a growing project area for the new studio.

An office tower for the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) houses information technology, human resources, and marketing staff for UPHS, as well as a childcare facility for up to 170 children.
