The design of the lab is critical to its performance. Scientists require the right space to complete the technical work. Taking advantage of the knowledge, experience, and expertise of architects, lab planners, and lab designers is the best way to create the space required for your lab to be successful.

Most lab managers have only a couple of opportunities to participate in a lab design project—either a renovation or a new build—during their careers. To effectively participate in these projects, lab managers need to learn the basics of lab design, the roles of key partners, and how to best interact with lab design professionals. The Lab Design Conference (LDC) is a great way to meet and network with experts in lab design. The 2024 LDC will be held from May 19-21 in Phoenix, Arizona.

This webinar will provide a brief overview of lab design fundamentals and the professionals who help to deliver them, a preview of the 2024 LDC, and a Q&A session to discuss and share about lab design.

Some highlights of the leadership presentation will include:

  • Fundamentals of lab design

  • Improving sustainability through lab design

  • Developing an effective lab design team

  • Getting the best from the lab design experts

  • Sources of information about lab design

  • An overview of the in-person Lab Design Conference, including agenda highlights
