Weck Laboratories Groundbreaking Ceremony Marks Milestone in Hacienda Heights
LCS Constructors, Inc. is pleased to announce a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 20,000 square foot two-story laboratory building in Los Angeles County. The event occurred on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the project site.
The groundbreaking ceremony signifies the commencement of construction for Weck Laboratories’ new analytical building, an initiative to expand the company’s laboratory and offer an inviting space for their staff and clients to enjoy. This new two-story building includes a new microbiology lab, chromatography lab, general lab space for the future, office space, lobby, conference room, elevated pathway bridge between the buildings, new parking areas, coffee bar, and employee lounge space. The expanded footprint allows Weck to undergo new business ventures and provide more services to existing and future clients.
Weck Laboratories, Inc. offers a full range of analytical services to industrial, engineering, utilities, and government clients. Weck employs over 80 chemists, microbiologists, technicians, and support personnel. Testing services available include analysis of drinking water, wastewater, groundwater surface water, desalination, water reuse, hazardous waste, soil, air, sediment and activated carbon.
Dr. Agustin Pierri, Laboratory Technical Director, spoke at the event, expressing his excitement about the future of Weck Laboratories. This event marks a pivotal moment for LCS Constructors as a design-build contractor, highlighting their commitment to providing general construction and self-performed services for laboratories and technical facilities.

The new building is planned to open in Spring 2025. Many of the design-build team attended the celebration, including Aday Architects, Brandow & Johnston, Richardson Engineering, Anderson Mechanical Services, Engineering Resources Mechanical, and Plump Engineering.
