Introducing the Lab Design News Advisory Board
The Lab Design News team is happy to announce the Lab Design News editorial advisory board.
These lab design/build professionals were hand-selected based on their various skilled and influential roles in their industries, and will assist our editorial staff with enhancing the content and services on the Lab Design News site.
The editorial advisory board will assist with informative editorial content and events by providing their ideas, feedback, and knowledge to represent the voice of our audience and the industry.
Their expertise includes engineering, lab end users, sustainability, and architecture.
The board members include (from left to right):
Bob Skolozdra: Bob is a partner with Svigals + Partners in New Haven, CT with over 35 years of experience. He works as an architect and designs labs seeking the balance between architecture, engineering, and art.
Aimée Smith: Aimée is the director of technical excellence and a principal at RWDI with over 22 years of experience. Based in Guelph, Canada, she is a leader in higher education and laboratories providing design guidance for clients. Some of her expertise includes exhaust dispersion and air intake systems, and microclimate factors.
Isabel Mandujano: Isabel is the director of laboratory planning at LPA in Irvine, CA with more than 15 years of experience. Her specialties include programming, design, and documentation for life science R&D and higher education. As a lab planner, Isabel focuses on teaching, testing, and research for laboratories in the public and private sectors.
Brian Tucker: Brian is a senior planner and principal of higher education at Page Sutherland Page in Washington, D.C. Prior to this, he was working as an architect for over five years. His expertise includes executing innovative science, programming, planning, designing, engineering, and discovery facilities for university teaching spaces, college research labs, and core labs.
Cynthia Walston: Cynthia is a partner at Scientia Architects in Houston, Texas. For over 30 years she was a partner and senior laboratory planner, and she was also an architect. She specializes in health education facility designs and some of her expertise includes academic labs, vivariums, cGMP, and research labs. She is also a treasurer for I2SL: International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories.
