VIEW ON DEMAND

Scientists are presented with ergonomic risks due to the essence of their work—repetitive tasks, manual materials handling, and intense visual concentration. Laboratory design professionals are rightly concerned with the facility infrastructure and aesthetics of a laboratory environment, but ergonomic design is also paramount to developing a safe, healthy, and industrious workplace. An ergonomically designed lab facility will result in more productivity, less physical and mental stress, and a happier work environment for all involved. This presentation will review ergonomic challenges laboratories face and some solutions to address them from design, operations, and management perspectives.
