Exclusive Access to Arizona Labs with the Lab Design Conference 2024

Participants of the 2024 Lab Design Conference were offered exclusive access to some of Arizona’s most exclusive labs with both morning and afternoon tour options as they experienced 850 PBC, Health Futures Center (ASU), and Biodesign Institute C (ASU).

850 PBC

850 PBC combines university research, corporate engagement, entrepreneurial activity, workforce development, and community inclusion in an environment intentionally designed for collaborative activity in Phoenix. A partnership adjacency to Arizona State University research provides potential joint research opportunities, and the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI), a Maricopa Community Colleges program located on the first floor, offers on-site life sciences workforce development training. This fully lab-enabled facility is the newest building on the Phoenix Bioscience Core, and is LEED Gold certified.

Health Futures Center - Arizona State University

Arizona State University’s Health Futures Center, home of the Mayo Clinic and ASU Alliance for Health Care, is the latest development in the nearly two-decades-long relationship between the nation’s most innovative university and the recognized world leader in patient care, medical education, and research. Through the alliance, the two organizations have a shared goal of bringing the brightest minds together to accelerate cutting-edge research discoveries, improve patient care through innovation, and transform medical education to enhance health outcomes at individual, community, and national levels. The state-of-the-art facility will support interdepartmental research and collaborative programs with Mayo Clinic—including ASU’s College of Health Solutions, Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute—on a new campus, establishing a nexus of research, teaching, and meeting space.

Arizona State University Biodesign Institute C

Biodesign Institute C is the third building in a set of four scientific complexes focused on bio-inspired research for global impact at Arizona State University. This multi-functional research facility meets the university's growing need for additional laboratory space to secure and perform high-quality research. Biodesign Institute Building C includes state-of-the-art research support space designed specifically to promote and enable the creation of cutting-edge research clusters. Biodesign C houses research from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and the Biodesign Institute. It provides high-quality wet lab space for chemistry, engineering, and the biological sciences. Biodesign Institute C is the winner of the Excellence in Sustainability prize in the first annual Design Excellence Awards in 2020.
