Groundbreaking For A New Agricultural Research Lab

Groundbreaking for an agricultural research lab is underway at NDSU’s Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC).

The $2.2 million 75-by-100-foot laboratory will further the environmental and agricultural efforts for southwest North Dakota.

The new lab will house a cleaning and drying space for grain samples, improve safety with NDSU Animal Science Department cattle genetics blood samples, and replace a smaller existing lab with no air conditioning or heating.

Funding for the project came from the North Dakota State Legislature through a 2021 special legislative session and with the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
