Crafting Your Design Excellence Awards Entry: Telling the Story of Your Lab

The Design Excellence Awards, hosted annually by Lab Design, honors exceptional projects in the lab design/build/renovation community. Winners will be honored at the 2025 Lab Design Conference in Denver, CO.

Whether you’re an architect, engineer, lab facility owner, furniture manufacturer, research scientist, or equipment supplier, we want to hear what makes your newly built or renovated lab stand out above the rest!

Basic guidelines

Projects must be completed between January 1, 2023, and January 1, 2025, and entries should not exceed 40 pages. The submission deadline is December 6, 2024.

Key tips for crafting a successful entry include focusing on the lab's unique design aspects rather than overall building amenities, addressing challenges faced during the project, explaining what makes your lab unique, and highlighting the lab's impact on both users and the community.

Awards will be given for Whole Building/Holistic Design, Sustainable Design, Interior Design, and Small Project Design.
